Pickled Pelican Here

We arrived at Holly Beach, Louisiana,  yesterday and are parked at an RV resort right on the Gulf of Mexico.  It's quiet, but with ample evidence (tire tracks in the sand) of weekend activities. The wind is blowing from the south, so the locals tell us, "The mosquitoes aren't so bad." I get it. We traveled through 35 miles of wetlands to get here. Here is the setup... Jeri likes it... And her new friends... Roger likes it, too...

We are camping at Rodman  Campground near Palatka,  Florida. Towing from Blue Lake Camp, we spent one night at Big Oak RV Park in Gainesville where this sign stood: Rodman Campground is well-maintained. It has the cleanest shower house of any we have experienced,  which is surprising,  since it gets a lot of use. We feel welcomed here... It's about an hour drive to Saint Augustine, Florida,  from here,  so we have spent a couple of days there and plan to go back on Monday for an oil change at the Toyota dealership.  We've been working on our income tax return, too, and are happy it's almost completed. We plan to stay here for two weeks, then continue our pilgrimage. This afternoon, we saw a manatee in the lake across from our campsite.
