Hoosier National Forest

Be warned: Campsite number 152 is very long and quite narrow. Somehow, with Jeri communicating and Roger driving, we managed to thread our way into the site on our very first try! Shade from those trees helped to cool us from the 90+ deg F heat of the afternoon.

See how close?

Shout out to Odon, Indiana! Finding no rest stops along Interstate 69, yesterday we "rolled the dice" and took a four mile detour to the city park at Odon. We found enough space to park the travel trailer for about 30 minutes, while we ate a picnic lunch under a covered and tree-shaded pavilion. The park was very busy with a youth baseball event underway. People smiled and waved, but didn't stop to talk. They seemed eager to go to a baseball game or eager to get out of the heat of the day after a baseball game.

Rested and fed, we got back in the truck and towed to the Hardin Ridge Recreational Area. Our plan is to stay two nights, then to resume our northward pilgrimage.
